Chas McCormick will make his return to the Astros lineup they open a three-game series Monday night in Anaheim after the team activated him off the 10-day injured list.
McCormick has missed the Astros’ last 20 games after leaving during a loss to the Texas Rangers with vision issues, and he was placed on the injured list three days later after suffering a low back injury during a workout.
The Astros center fielder compiled an .883 OPS in the 11 games he appeared in while hitting in the leadoff spot his last six contests. McCormick will bat seventh against the Angels on Monday.
To make room for McCormick on the 26-man roster, the Astros optioned infielder Ryan Bannon to Triple-A Sugar Land.
