Baylor guard LJ Cryer enters transfer portal
LJ Cryer, Baylor’s junior shooting guard, has made the decision to enter the transfer portal and continue his college career elsewhere, according to SicEm365.
Last Wednesday, Cryer announced his intentions to test the NBA waters. If Cryer does return to college basketball next season, he will have two years of eligibility remaining at his new school. Cryer averaged 15 points per game last season for the Bears, who finished their 2022-23 campaign 23-11 after a Round-of-32 loss to sixth-seeded Creighton. Cryer made 45% of his field goals and 41% of his 3-pointers during his junior season in Waco.
Cryer appeared in 70 games for Baylor over three seasons and started 34 of them. Most notably, Cryer was part of Baylor’s 2021 national championship team.
Given Cryer’s long history of contributions at what has become a premier college basketball program nationally, the 6-1 guard will surely have plenty of suitors for his services moving forward.
