Bills safety Damar Hamlin discharged from Cincinnati hospital, flying home to Buffalo
Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin was released from the University of Cincinnati Medical Center today after suffering cardiac arrest last Monday night. He is now on his way back to Buffalo, just one week after the incident.
According to Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network, Hamlin has made incredible progress and has “hit a lot of key milestones,” including eating a normal diet, walking, and going through physical therapy.
Hamlin had been making great strides in his recovery before today. He has been facetiming his teammates and friends from around the league, including Eagles running back Miles Sanders. According to Bills General Manager Brandon Beane, when Hamlin facetimed with the team earlier in the week, there was overwhelming excitement in the room.
The league as a whole has embraced Hamlin and have collectively demonstrated in prayer for him over the course of this week. After going through quite possibly the most frightening occurrence on a football field, the prayers were heard, and Hamlin is on his way home.
More to come when further updates are provided.
