Cowboys select Texas LB DeMarvion Overshown with third round pick
The Cowboys continue to stack the defense for defensive coordinator Dan Quinn with the selection of Texas linebacker DeMarvion Overshown in the third round.
Overshown was one of the best linebackers in the country this past season, being named a semifinalist for the Butkus Award. He totaled 96 tackles and 10 tackles for loss to go along with four sacks coming from the inside linebacker position.
Overshown is 6-3 and 229 pounds with great speed and quickness toward the football. He ran a 4.56 40-yard dash at the combine showing off his combination of great size and athleticism.
He’s a violent tackler who doesn’t shy away in pursuit of the football. Overshown is given credit for his solid coverage skills for his position. Overshown is a player who can come in and contribute for Dallas immediately.
