BREAKING: Texans nab franchise QB C.J. Stroud with No. 2 overall pick in draft
Despite a wealth of speculation over the last several weeks regarding what direction the Houston Texans would go with the No. 2 overall pick, the Texans pulled the trigger on the consensus second-rated QB in the draft. Here’s what you need to know about the newest member of the Houston Texans:

Reasons to Like:
- Finished third in Heisman Trophy voting last season
- Tremendous accuracy to all levels
- Great instincts as a passer when in a clean pocket
- Played great against Georgia’s top-tier defense last year
- Considered by some as the best combination of physical tools
Reasons to Dislike:

- Scored poorly on S2 Cognition Test
- Can struggle under pressure
Stroud is one of the most productive quarterbacks in Ohio State history. He is the first quarterback in Big Ten history to put together back-to-back seasons with more than 30 touchdown passes.
As far as physical tools, Stroud could be considered the safest quarterback on the board with his combination of size, arm strength, and accuracy. However, he is not a mobile quarterback and struggles when pressured.
His performance against Georgia in the College Football Playoff was one of the most impressive games from any field general this past season. He threw for 348 yards and four touchdowns on 23-of-34 passing in that game.
Teams were concerned about his incredibly low score on the S2 Cognition Test, which measures how players can process split-second information and how fast they act on it.
