The Cadence Bank Houston Open continued early Friday morning, as several golfers completed their suspended Thursday rounds before round two began. Tony Finau, the world’s 15th ranked golfer according to the Official World Golf Rankings, led the way shooting an impressive 62 to move himself into first place alone by four strokes. Finau birdied ten different holes Friday, an impressive performance that leaves him 13 under par as the weekend begins.
Patrick Rodgers, Tyson Alexander, and Alex Noren all lurk within five strokes of Finau. Scottie Scheffler, the tournament’s highest-ranked golfer at number two in the world, is tied for 20th while shooting four under par in round two. Saturday’s weather looks much clearer in Houston, which should allow for Round 3 to be completed on Saturday. Tony Finau has certainly moved himself into a strong position after Friday’s action, but is far from being able to celebrate with 36 holes still ahead.
