Cowboys add more depth to DB room, claim Trayvon Mullen off waivers
This is the second move the Cowboys have made on Wednesday, claiming former second-round pick Trayvon Mullen off waivers from the Arizona Cardinals.
Following Anthony Brown’s injury, the Cowboys have been bringing in a plethora of players to add depth to a secondary group that has already seen Jourdan Lewis go down. In prior weeks, Dallas has signed Mackensie Alexander and Kendall Sheffield to bolster the DB group. Now Mullen gets added to the mix.
Mullen, 25, was a second-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft by the Las Vegas Raiders, where he would spend the first three years of his career. He started almost every game for the Raiders before being traded to the Arizona Cardinals for a conditional 2023 draft pick, which will now turn into a seventh-round pick for the Raiders. He has accumulated four interceptions in his four-year career despite having none this year in eight games for Arizona.
Mullen was considered one of the best corners in the draft out of Clemson and was a surprise dropping to the second round. The talent is definitely there for the Cowboys to try and mold.
