Cowboys add to backfield, select Kansas State RB Deuce Vaughn with 212th pick in the sixth round
The Cowboys’ backfield just got a lot more electric with the selection of Kansas State running back Deuce Vaughn. He is one of five players in FBS history since 1996 to tally over 3,600 rushing yards and 1,200 receiving yards in his career.
Last season, Vaughn rushed for 1,558 yards and nine touchdowns averaging over five yards per carry. He also caught 42 passes for 378 yards and three touchdowns. His versatility is what will make his career in the NFL. He’s extremely quick on his feet and has great side-to-side speed. You can line him up anywhere in the offense and he’ll find ways to make plays.
The worry with Vaughn is his size at just 5-5, 179 pounds and how that translates to his upside as an every-down back. However, his role will be to change the pace of the offense as a versatile offensive weapon with a proven track record of production.
