Cowboys add to secondary select Southern Miss CB Eric Scott Jr. with 178th pick in the sixth round

The Cowboys traded up to the first pick of the sixth round to select Southern Mississippi defensive back Eric Scott Jr. Dallas gave up a 2024 fifth-round pick to move to this spot. He was one of the players the Cowboys hosted for a top 30 visit.

Scott is known for his zone coverage and ball skills. He has a nose for the football and does a great job at finding angles to deflect passes. He provides some positional versatility as he could potentially move him to safety if need be.

At 6-2, 192 pounds, Scott was an impact player at Southern Mississippi this past season. He accumulated 27 total tackles with five passes defensed and two interceptions. He fits the bill for a Dan Quinn-type corner with size and athleticism.
