Cowboys make some telling moves before Sunday
The story surrounding the Cowboys’ building this week was the status of RB Ezekiel Elliott. He has not practiced all week but looked to be progressing quickly as he was jogging out to the practice field and did not know show a noticeable limp in his walk. He is listed as doubtful for Sunday’s game and that designation seems to look more true to its word.
Dallas signed RB Malik Davis from the practice squad where he is expected to be available for Sunday. This is a potentially early indication that Zeke will not find the field this week. Davis, who found snaps in all four years at Florida, ran for almost 1,500 yards in his career with the Gators and caught for over 700.
Tony Pollard is expected to see the bulk of the backfield snaps this weekend, but Davis could find himself in the mix in certain situations rotationally.
Dallas also signed TE Sean McKeon from the practice squad which could be a hint to the status of Dalton Schultz who was limited in practice all week with the same knee injury that has been nagging him most of the season.
The Cowboys have also brought up RB Qadree Ollison and G/C Dakoda Shepley from the practice squad for Sunday’s game.
Rookie LB Devin Harper was placed on injured reserve and will miss more time as the season progresses.
Dallas’ injury report was as populated this week as it has been all week and the moves made on Saturday express how serious those injuries are being taken.
