Cowboys release WR James Washington
James Washington has had what can only be described as a disappointing first season in Dallas. Disappointment has turned into departure as, according to multiple sources, the Cowboys have released Washington.
Washington, a 2018 second-pick of the Steelers, became a free agent in the offseason and signed a one-year contract with the Cowboys. Since then, nothing has gone right for Washington. He suffered a broken foot early in training camp and did not reach the field until Week 14 against the Houston Texans. Washington appeared in just two games without recording a pass reception while only being targeted once.
The recent signing of T.Y. Hilton spelled the end for Washington. Since Hilton signed prior to the Cowboys’ Week 16 matchup with the Eagles, Washington has been a healthy scratch.
