Dallas Cowboys vs. Houston Texans Wednesday Injury Report for Week 14
The Cowboys have released their injury report for Wednesday’s practice. The report is again short as it was last week with a couple of players nursing an illness.
With that said, not listed on the report is starting cornerback Anthony Brown who will miss the rest of the season with a torn Achilles. Brown’s injury comes as a significant hit to a secondary that boasts a lot of young inexperienced talent.
The following players are listed on the report:
Did Not Participate:
DT Johnathan Hankins: Hankins did not practice on Wednesday due to a personal issue. He should be back to practice the rest of the week.
CB Kelvin Joseph: Joseph looks to be the guy set to replace Brown in the starting lineup as the former second-round pick finally gets his shot at consistent snaps. He missed practice on Wednesday with an illness, and his situation will be monitored throughout the week.
DE Sam Williams: Williams is the other player nursing an illness as he did not practice on Wednesday. The rookie edge rusher has been a key contributor on the defensive line.
Limited Participants:
DE DeMarcus Lawrence: Lawrence was limited in practice with a foot injury; however, he should be fine, as the team seems to be giving him as much rest as possible to keep him healthy through the later part of the year.
DT Quinton Bohanna: Bohanna was a limited participant in practice on Wednesday due to a knee injury. He missed last week’s game against the Colts and has spent some time this season inactive because of injuries.
S Jayron Kearse: Kearse was limited in practice with a shoulder injury. He had the same injury listed last week but was able to play a significant role on Sunday night.
Full Participants:
There were not any players listed on the injury report as full participants.
Outside of the injury report, veteran left tackle Tyron Smith returned to practice for the first time on Wednesday as he begins his road back to the starting lineup. Smith has been out with an avulsion fracture in his left knee, where he underwent surgery in August. Rookie Tyler Smith has done very well filling in at that spot since he has been out, so it will be interesting to see how the Cowboys handle that situation going forward.
