Five Longhorns Invited to NFL Scouting Combine
Five Texas Longhorns have been invited to participate in this year’s NFL Scouting Combine. Defensive lineman Keondre Coburn, running back Roschon Johnson, defensive lineman Moro Ojomo, linebacker DeMarvion Overshown, and running back Bijan Robinson all received invitations.
Coburn was a second-team All-Big 12 selection this season and posted a solid career in Austin. He finished with 96 tackles, 14 for loss, and recorded 5½ sacks to go along with two forced fumbles, two passes defended, and a blocked punt. The native of Houston was honorable mention All-Big 12 the past two seasons.
As part of a dynamic one-two combination in the Texas backfield, Johnson finished his career ranked 18th on the all-time rushing list with 2,190 yards rushing while scoring 26 total touchdowns. Johnson was also a three-time Academic All-Big 12 honoree.
Ojomo totaled 95 career tackles with 13½ for a loss and five sacks. He was a second-team All-Big 12 honoree in 2022 and was named to the Academic All-Conference team three times.
A native of Arp, Texas, Overshown was a stalwart contributor to the Longhorn defense throughout his five-year career. A two-time Butkus Award semifinalist, Overshown was chosen as first-team All-Big 12 by coaches and media. He finished his career with 165 tackles, 18 for loss, and five sacks.
Robinson has garnered the most attention in this year’s Texas class and is expected to be the first Longhorn drafted. Throughout his career in Austin he amassed an astounding 4,215 rushing yards, 41 total touchdowns, and 18 games with at least 100 yards rushing. He ranks fourth in the Longhorn record book in all those categories. Robinson also recorded 60 receptions for 805 yards and eight touchdowns to add to his repertoire.
The NFL scouting combine will be conducted from Feb. 28 through March 6 in Indianapolis. The combine serves as a chance for teams around the league to get data on invited players in several drills as well as physical measurements and even tests of their mental capacity.
