Some Houston Texans players had some career milestones and achievements during an otherwise forgettable 31-3 beatdown at the hands of the Jacksonville Jaguars:
DB Jalen Pitre: He has quite a few notable items:
- Became the first player ever to record 125+ tackles and 5+ interceptions in their rookie season.
- Leads all rookies with 139 tackles (9th in NFL)
- Became the sixth player to record 135+ tackles and 5+ interceptions in a season since 1991 (when tracking started)
- His 139 tackles is second most in franchise history for a rookie (DeMeco Ryans 156, 2006)
- His five interceptions is second most in franchise history for a rookie (Dunta Robinson 2004)
- Tied for second in NFL for interceptions by a rookie (Seahawks’ Tariq Woolen leads with six)
- Became first rookie since 2015 to have multiple games of 10+ tackles and an interception (Kwon Alexander, Tampa Bay)
TE Jordan Akins: Became first Texans tight end to achieve at least 425 yards receiving and at least three touchdowns in a single season since CJ Fiedorowicz in 2016.
WR Brandin Cooks: Became 11th active player in NFL with 8,500 career receiving yards.
WR Phillip Dorsett: Reached 2,000 career receiving yards.
K Ka’imi Fairbairn: Connected on 56-yard field goal. It was his ninth straight conversion on a field goal of 50 yards or more, currently the longest streak in the NFL.
DL Kurt Hinish: First career game with multiple tackles for loss.
DL Jerry Hughes: Played in his 200th career game. Recorded his ninth sack of the season, one shy of his career high of 10 set in both 2013 and matched in 2014.
DL Ogbonnia Okoronkwo: Recorded his fifth sack of the season, all since Week 13. He is one of only three players in the AFC with at least five sacks in that time (Patriots LB Josh Uche 6½, Browns DL Myles Garrett 5.0)
