The Houston Cougars basketball team stayed neutral in the latest Associated Press poll that was released on Monday morning.

Houston (12-1) remained as the No. 3 team in the country in the AP Poll behind Purdue, who is No. 1, and Connecticut, who is No. 2. The Kansas Jayhawks were fourth, and the Arizona Wildcats were fifth. The Texas Longhorns moved up to No. 6 in Monday’s poll as well.

Baylor at No. 12 and Texas Christian at No. 18 are the only other teams in the state of Texas that were ranked in this week’s AP Poll. While not ranked, Memphis, an American Athletic Conference opponent for Houston, received votes.

The Houston Cougars basketball team also remains the No. 2 team in the country when it comes to the NCAA Evaluation Tool rankings. The USA Today Coaches Poll is slated to be released later Monday.
