Houston Cougars football adds quarterback depth through transfer portal
The Houston Cougars football team got a commitment from a quarterback on Tuesday night.
Ui Ale on Tuesday announced via social media that he has chosen Houston. He attended California Community College as a freshman in 2022. Ale played in nine games for the Golden West. He is exactly 6 feet tall.
Houston head coach Dana Holgorsen said the program was looking to add another quarterback on scholarship for depth following the end of spring practices in April.
The Cougars have quarterbacks Donovan Smith and Lucas Coley, both of whom are competing for the starting job heading into the 2023 season. UH is also adding quarterback Caleb McMickle out of Fellowship Christian School in Roswell, Georgia.
