Houston Cougars football cancels spring game due to weather
The Houston Cougars football team’s spring game, slated for Friday evening, has been canceled due to the forecast of inclement weather in the greater Houston area, the university announced in a news release.
Houston will not reschedule the spring practice. Instead, the Cougars will hold a closed indoor practice on Friday, according to the release.
UH will begin its summer training camp on Aug. 2. Houston’s players will go through 25 practices leading up to its season opener on Sept. 2 at home against UTSA.
“We appreciate the support of our fans and know many of them were excited to come see our 2023 team compete on Friday,” Houston head coach Dana Holgorsen said. “Our players, coaches, and staff have been working hard to make the most of our opportunities this spring and look forward to getting back in front of Cougar fans at TDECU this fall.”
