Houston announced the signings of multiple new faces, and the list grows with every passing hour.

The Cougars’ first signee was receiver Ja’koby Banks out of Fort Bend Marshall in Missouri City. He chose Houston over Memphis and Mississippi State.

Houston’s signees announced on Wednesday were Jalyn Zeus Stanford, a three-star safety and nickel linebacker from Jenks, Oklahoma; Ja’Ryan Wallace, a receiver from Denton; safety Johnsley Barbas from Roswell, Georgia; Christopher Pearson, a linebacker from Orange Beach, Alabama; and Re’Shaun Sanford, a 5-7 running back from Harker Heights.

Justin Benton, a class of 2023 defensive lineman that had originally committed to West Virginia, announced he is now signing with the Houston Cougars on Wednesday morning.

Benton was being recruited by several Power Five schools, including Texas and Arkansas, but he ultimately chose the Cougars.

On Wednesday afternoon, the Cougars announced the signings of Jamaal Shaw, a safety out of Orange; Michael Patterson, a cornerback from Fort Bend Marshall; Jonah Wilson, a four-star recruit from Dekaney high school that was also being recruited by Texas and Baylor; offensive lineman Cayden Bowie from Port Arthur; tight end Jett Runion; running back Parker Jenkins from Klein Forest High School; and quarterback Caleb McMickle from Roswell, Georgia.

Houston also announced the signing of Latreveon McCutchin, a linebacker out of Austin. The Cougars also made noise on Tuesday evening with the announcement they had landed former Texas Tech quarterback Donovan Smith in the transfer portal.

This story will be updated as new signees are announced.
