Houston Texans Tuesday Injury Report for Week 9

There were two status changes from Monday.

DID NOT PARTICIPATE:

DB Grayland Arnold (Quad): Arnold was injured Week 8 vs. the Titans. He has now missed back-to-back practices.

DL Maliek Collins (chest): Collins has not practiced since taking a big hit from teammate Steven Nelson in Week 7 vs. Las Vegas as Nelson was going for a kill shot hit, bounced off his target and slammed into Collins. He is trending towards being unavailable.

WR Nico Collins (groin): Collins was also injured Week 7 in Las Vegas, and has not practiced since. He is expected to miss this week’s game as well.

WR Brandin Cooks (wrist/not injury related – personal): Cooks’ wrist injury is not why he missed practice. Cooks was excused because he thought he was being traded today. The Texans were reportedly interested in taking offers but had set a price of a 2nd round pick that apparently no team was willing to cough up for a WR making $18M next season fully guaranteed. Cooks then posted an angry tweet about not being traded. This relationship is going downhill at high speed.

LB Neville Hewitt (hamstring): Hewitt was injured Sunday vs. the Titans. He has now missed two consecutive practices.

OL Justin McCray (concussion): McCray suffered a concussion Sunday vs. Tennessee. It would be essentially impossible for him to clear the protocol that quickly, not to mention highly medically and ethically questionable.

LIMITED PARTICIPATION:

LB Christian Harris (thigh): This is two straight limited practices for the Texans’ rookie. Barring some kind of setback, he will play heavy snaps.

DB Desmond King II (knee): Also, two straight limited practices for King. King played nearly 50% of the defensive snaps and 30% of special teams snaps as the team’s third corner. He is expected to play Thursday.

FULL PARTICIPATION:

OL A.J. Cann (illness): Cann is over his illness and will start Thursday night.

DL Roy Lopez (shoulder): This is two straight full practices for Lopez. He is good to go.
