Houston Texans will be down three starters Sunday vs. Titans
The Texans made several roster moves for their Week 8 game vs. Tennessee.
Saturday, the Texans announced the following players would be OUT for Sunday vs. Tennessee:
OL AJ Cann (illness)
DL Maliek Collins (chest)
WR Nico Collins (groin)
The team also elevated the following players to the active roster from the practice squad for Week 8:
WR Jalen Camp
OL KC McDermott
Camp, 24, is in his second year in the NFL out of Georgia Tech. He’s a big WR at 6-2 220. Camp is a former sixth-round pick in the 2021 Draft of the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jaguars waived him before the start of the 2021 season, and the Texans signed him to their practice squad in September. He made his Texans debut last season in Week 16 vs. the Chargers. After being waived by the Texans on August 30 this year, he signed to the Houston practice squad the next day. He has never caught an NFL pass.
McDermott, 26, is in his fifth season. The 6-7 300-pound offensive tackle initially signed with Jacksonville as an undrafted rookie free agent in 2018 out of Miami (FL). He spent his first four years in the Jaguars organization before being waived on August 29, 2022.
He signed with the Giants on September 12 and spent eight days on the New York Giants practice squad before being released. On October 11, he signed with the Texans practice squad.
