John McClain: Achane, Robinson post blazing times in 40-yard dash at combine

INDIANAPOLIS – Two running backs from Texas – the Aggies’ Devon Achane and the Longhorns’ Bijan Robinson – scorched the track at Lucas Oil Stadium on Sunday when they ran the 40-yard dash on the last day of the combine.

Achane, 5-8 ½, 188, ran a 4.32, fastest among the running backs. Some predicted he would run in the 4.2s. He’s expected to be drafted in the second or third round.

Robinson, 5-11, 215 – down from the 6-0, 222 he was listed at Texas – ran a 4.46. He’s going to be the first back drafted, and he’s hoping to be the first to be selected within the top 10 for the first time since 2018, when the Giants chose Saquon Barkley second overall.
