Johnson removes himself from consideration for Texans job
Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson informed teams Tuesday that he was staying with the Lions.
On Tuesday, Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson, one of the hottest coordinators in the current NFL head coach hiring cycle, informed all interested teams that he was no longer interviewing and was remaining with the Lions, according to reports.
Johnson was the first coordinator the Houston Texans interviewed last week.
In his first year as offensive coordinator, Johnson resurrected the career of quarterback Jared Goff and turned the Lions into the fourth-best offense in the NFL. The Lions’ offense ranked 22nd in 2021.
