Moore out as Cowboys offensive coordinator
The shake-up of the Dallas Cowboys coaching staff continues in the wake of their ouster from the playoffs at the hands of the 49ers for the second consecutive year. According to the NFL Network and the Dallas Morning News, Kellen Moore’s tenure as Dallas Cowboys offensive coordinator has come to an end.
In what has been described as a mutual decision to part ways, Moore hits the open market with a host of teams needing to fill openings at offensive coordinator. Moore’s track record is sure to put him at the top of many teams’ lists after garnering some interest around the NFL for head coaching vacancies during this year’s hiring cycle.
According to the Dallas Morning News, Moore’s successor as the Cowboys play caller will be head coach Mike McCarthy.
Dallas will begin a search for a new offensive coordinator, one that will not handle play-calling duties.
