Offensive lineman Christian Jones to return for 2023
The hits keep coming for the Texas Longhorns as offensive tackle Christian Jones has announced that he will return for his sixth season with the program in 2023.
Jones’ return, along with news that the Longhorns have signed former Arkansas safety Jalen Catalon and a top 5 recruiting class, adds to the positive momentum Steve Sarkisian and his staff have generated in his second season guiding the program.
An honorable mention All-Big 12 selection at right tackle, Jones anchored the right side of the offensive line. He was one of the most improved players on the Horns’ roster this past year. With his return, Texas will have all five starters returning on the O-line, likely making the unit a strength of the team next season.
Texas should also return 10 out of 11 starters on the offensive side of the ball. If the defense can continue its strong play from late in the season, the Longhorns should be a force to be reckoned with in the Big 12 in 2023.
The future is certainly looking bright for UT football.
