Reports: Texans signing former Seahawks, Jaguars CB Shaquill Griffin to one-year deal
The Houston Texans have agreed to a one-year deal with former Seahawks and Jaguars cornerback Shaquill Griffin, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Griffin, 27, signed a three-year, $44.5 million deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2021 but was released in March, saving the Jaguars $13 million in cap space.
Since being drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the third round in 2017, Griffin has amassed six interceptions and 59 pass deflections and was selected to the 2019 Pro Bowl. From 2018-2020, Griffin and his brother Shaquem were teammates in Seattle.
Griffin was placed on injured reserve after suffering a back injury in Week 6 of the 2022 season while with Jacksonville.
A native of St. Petersburg, Fla., Shaquill Griffin played his college ball at UCF from 2013 until 2016, collecting six interceptions over his four seasons in Orlando.
