Saints in the community

The Saints always give back and stay engaged with the local community and surrounding areas. Here are a few highlights of their week:

Jarvis Landry’s jersey retired

On Friday, September 16, Landry had his number 80 jersey retired by his alma mater Lutcher High School. It was very cool to see. He even got a little emotional. Landry, the Saints, and Bridgestone donated $10,000 to the school. His mom, kids, and girlfriend joined him on the field during the ceremony.

Saints 5K Kickoff Run

On Saturday, September 10, the Saints held their 10th annual 5K Kickoff Run. Hancock Whitney presented the event. This is one of the events that kick off the season and get fans engaged at the beginning of the season. It also helps promote physical fitness. The finish line was the 50-yard line of the Superdome. Participants got an event tee, a commemorative Finisher Medal, and two free beers (21+ and up only).

Check back with us next week as we continue highlighting community events by the Saints! Community involvement and giving back is a big part of the NFL. The Saints have always been heavily involved in the community.
