TCU football addressed pressing need in transfer portal

With the defections from the program of Jordan Hudson and Blair Conwright via the transfer portal and Quentin Johnston entering the NFL Draft, the TCU Horned Frogs found themselves with serious depth concerns at wide receiver heading into the 2023 season. The transfer commitment they received Sunday from former University of Minnesota wide receiver and Dallas native Dylan Wright should help bolster the position in a major way.

Wright was a four-star recruit and ranked the No. 70 player overall in the Class of 2019. He signed with Texas A&M before transferring to Minnesota in 2020.

Wright spent two years with the Golden Gophers, catching 35 passes for 645 yards, good for 18.4 yards per reception, and five touchdowns while appearing in 24 games.

While depth is a concern at receiver, front-line talent at the position is not, with Wright joining Alabama transfer JoJo Earle, Oklahoma State transfer John Paul Richardson and LSU transfer Jack Bech as additions to the roster this offseason.

Look for TCU to continue to scour the transfer portal for additional wide receiver depth, likely bringing in two more receivers, at least one of which will be an outside receiver.
