Texans add TCU edge rusher Dylan Horton with 109th pick in the fourth round
Horton has had quite the journey as a defensive player for TCU. He started at safety, then moved to outside linebacker before eventually settling in at defensive end for the Horned Frogs.
Horton saw massive production last season at TCU, putting up 51 tackles and 15 tackles for loss to go along with 10.5 sacks. The 6-4, 257-pound edge rusher adds to a revamped defensive front with Alabama’s Will Anderson, who also produced at a high level in their college career.
Horton plays with a high motor and has a tremendous athletic profile. He has great body control at the line of scrimmage but has a violent approach toward the football. Due to his newness at the position, he’s a bit underdeveloped as a pass rusher and may take time to reach his full potential. However, his upside is outstanding, given his production and athleticism.
