Texans add three to active roster for Week 5

DL Mario Addison will make his first appearance of the season.

Saturday, the Houston Texans announced that they would add three players to the active roster ahead of Sunday’s Week 5 contest with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

DL Mario Addison, who has been on IR to this point in the season, has officially been activated off IR and added to the main roster. Addison could see significant snaps as usual starting DL Jon Greenard was ruled out earlier today. Coaches and teammates alike have been looking forward to Addison’s return, as the speed he brings off the edge is a component the team needs.

The Texans also announced that TE Jordan Akins and TE Mason Schreck have been elevated from the practice squad. This is Akins third elevation, and he is likely to be signed by the team to the main roster after Sunday’s game. It will be Schreck’s second elevation of the season, and second consecutive one. Brevin Jordan will miss his third straight game and Pharaoh Brown was released earlier this week. Schreck made his first career reception a week ago.
