According to ESPN’s Texans reporter DJ Bien-Aime, the Houston Texans completed an interview Tuesday with Broncos defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero for their vacant head coaching position.
Evero led the Broncos’ defense to an excellent season, allowing just 21 points per game and ranking in the NFL’s top-10 in yards allowed per game. Ejiro Evero has 15 total seasons of NFL cocahing experience, including five seasons with the Los Angeles Rams before being hired by the Broncos last offseason. With the Rams, Evero coached safeties from 2017-2020 and was the secondary coach/pass game coordinator in 2021.
Ejiro Evero worked for the Green Bay Packers and San Francisco 49ers before the Los Angeles Rams, and spent 2007 with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Evero played football for UC Davis in California, where he eventually returned to coach before moving on to the University of Redlands (CA).
