Texans put starting center on NFI list
On Tuesday, the Houston Texans announced they had placed starting center Justin Britt on the Non Football Injury/Illness list.
Britt, 31, has been away from the team since last Tuesday. Head coach Lovie Smith has only said that Britt was away for personal reasons related to football. Smith said he would give a further update on Britt’s status last Friday, but never did so.
Britt played every offensive snap for the Texans in Week 1, and was replaced at center by Scott Quessenberry Week 2. Smith had praise for Quessenberry’s work earlier this week.
There is no timetable as yet for when any announcement regarding Britt may come.
