Texans put starting linebacker on IR
A groin injury forced Pierre-Louis out of Houston’s Week 2 game vs. Denver.
On Tuesday, the Houston Texans announced they had placed starting linebacker Kevin Pierre-Louis on injured reserve.
Pierre-Louis, 30, suffered aa groin injury in Sunday’s game against the Denver Broncos and did not return. Pierre-Louis was not only a starter, but an active member on special teams as well. before departing, Pierre-Louis had logged 20 defensive snaps (3rd most among LBs) and 15 special teams snaps (58% of the ST snaps for the game).
Blake Cashman picked up the overwhelming majority of the linebacker snaps that would have gone to Pierre-Louis during Sunday’s game.
