Texans to honor military with Salute to Service Day
The annual game will honor and celebrate active and retired service members from all military branches.
The Houston Texans’ Week 11 matchup with the Washington Commanders will be the team’s annual Salute to Service Day game, honoring past and present members of the United Stated Armed Forces.
American flags will fill Kirby Drive as fans arrive at NRG Stadium. High Velocity from the United States Air Force Band of the West will perform on the stage at Bud Light Plaza beginning at 9:30 a.m.
Fans in attendance will receive 10% off all Salute to Service apparel, and active or retired military personnel can get an additional 10% off with their military ID.
Lieutenant Colonel Sam Kim, Special Forces with the U.S. Army will be Reppin’ H-Town on the battle drum.
The U.S Air Force Band of the West Brass Quintet will perform the National Anthem.
Service members from the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard will be joined by Wounded Warriors to present the flag.
The U.S. Army will hold a swearing in ceremony on the field before the game.
The U.S. Navy Silent Drill Team will perform on the field at halftime.
