Texans to interview Broncos defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero Tuesday
Evero will be the fourth coordinator the team has interviewed in their head coaching search.
The Houston Texans will be conducting their fourth head coaching interview Tuesday, this time with Denver Broncos defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero, according to a report from Aaron Wilson of KPRC-2 Houston.
Evero will join Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson, Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Shane Steichen and Eagles defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon as top coordinators in this job cycle to be interviewed by the Texans.
Evero’s Broncos defense was the seventh-best in the NFL, especially impressive considering the Broncos’ offense was absolutely putrid this season as the league’s lowest-scoring offense.
The Texans have also requested an interview with former New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton, which has been accepted but not as yet scheduled.
Other interviews that the team has requested include New York Giants offensive coordinator Mike Kafka, Los Angeles Rams assistant head coach/tight ends coach Thomas Brown, and San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator DeMeco Ryans.
