Texans to present four grants to Houston area charities
Rookie Jalen Pitre, former Pro Bowler Wade Smith, Texans Cheer and TORO will present the grants Monday, October 10.
Friday, the Houston Texans announced they would be presenting $25,000 in grants to the United Way of Greater Houston’s 2-1-1 Help Line and three of its agencies to help youth in underserved communities. Jalen Pitre, Wade Smith, TORO and members of Texans Cheer will be on hand Monday, October 10, at 3pm to surprise the organizations at the Chinese Community Center (9800 Town Park) in Houston to present the awards.
The other organizations being awarded grants are the Chinese Community Center, MECA and US Dream Academy.
The grants are designed to help bridge the “digital divide,” or the growing gap between those who have access to technology and all of its benefits, and those who do not. The grants will help support youth to help them achieve success.
