Texans bring in Alabama LB Henry To’oto’o with 167th pick in fifth round
After acquiring the 167th pick in the fifth round from the Rams in exchange for picks 174 and 259, the Houston Texans selected Alabama linebacker Henry To’oto’o to add to the middle of their defense.
To’oto’o was one of the best middle linebackers in college football last season, leading Alabama’s defense and earning First-Team All-SEC. He finished last year with 94 total tackles and eight tackles for loss.
He stands at 6-1, 227 pounds, and provides great lateral quickness. He works well when going downhill but also provides value in coverage. There have been questions about his motor, but he has great instincts and should provide an instant spark in the NFL. If To’oto’o can improve defending the run, the Texans may see him as an adequate fit to start in the middle of their defense.
