Jackson State 66, Grambling 24
It was a tough afternoon for Hue Jackson and the Tigers on the road as Deion Sanders, and Jackson State ran away with this one. After going into halftime with Jackson State leading 21-17, JSU came out firing on all cylinders outscoring Grambling 45-7 in the second half. Quaterius Hawkins was unable to repeat the production he put together last week as he went only 7-19 on pass attempts for 22 yards while also throwing a pick.

Texas Southern 24, Southern 0
This makes two straight weeks where Southern has struggled to produce offensively. BeSean McCray ended the day with 163 yards passing with three interceptions. Texas Southern rebounded from their crushing loss to North Texas last week as Andrew Body’s two touchdown passes kept the Tigers in front. He ended the day throwing an efficient 16 of 22 on the day to go with his two scores. Despite a tough second half, Texas Southern’s defense held up on their end. Wideout, Derek Morton, came through in his second straight game by posting four catches for 91 yards and a score after pulling in for more than 100 yards in the loss last week.

Incarnate Word 31, Prairie View A&M 14
Prairie View A&M suffers their second straight loss to Incarnate Word after failing to produce much of anything offensively. After taking an early one-point lead at the six-minute mark in the first quarter, the Panthers never led again. Incarnate Word went on to score 25 unanswered points before a last fourth-quarter touchdown from PVAMU. Ahmad Antoine put together a strong performance despite the loss averaging six yards per carry on 14 touches for 86 yards, including a touchdown. The Panthers will now fall to 1-2 on the season.
